CGHS is one of the primary healthcare delivery networks of the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, Government of India, which delivers affordable and qualify medical care facilities to central government employees across India. The CGHS network consists of CGHS dispensaries, empanelled private hospitals and diagnostics centers. In the national capital region (NCR) alone there are 87 CGHS dispensaries.

The senior officials of CGHS had been giving shape to various methodologies to extend upgraded medical services to its beneficiaries by using available space and facilities through the outsourcing model. This resulted in Hindustan Latex and CGHS Joining hands to set up this diagnostics centre at R.K Puram.

In the coming years, the service segment will be a key thrust area for HLL. The Joint Venture, Life Spring Hospitals Private Ltd (LHPL) Company is in the process of setting up 30 hospitals in the states of Andra Pradesh, Karnataka and Maharashtra. Apart from running hospitals, the major focus of LHPL will be primarily in the area of high quality health care delivery at affordable costs.

This HindLabs Diagnostic Centre at R.K. Puram, set up on a pilot basis, will be scaled up in the coming six months in NCR and other metros in the country.

The plan ahead is to establish diagnostic centers for the CGHS, in the NCR and 23 major cities in India covering over 110 hospitals. These centers will be networked for monitoring and ensuring high standards of service delivery. HLL will obtain NABL accreditation for these centers, to maintain the highest level of service quality. Plan have also been drawn up, to set up a chain of imaging centers on the same outsourcing model across India, with facilities for CT and MRI scans, diagnostics centers will be set up to deliver specialized testing services, including an online network of diagnostics centers in India and abroad.

In this wide network of hospitals, availability of modern and state of the art medical and diagnostic infrastructures, along with trained manpower is absolutely critical, for effective delivery of medical care. Major initiatives in the infrastructure up –gradation of hospitals and health centers are now being undertaken across the country by the Government of India. In this scenario, outsourcing of diagnostics facilities at these hospitals assumes importance, to enable the hospital to focus on their primary responsibility of ensuring high standards of medical care.

With its vision of Innovating for Healthy Generations, HLL has been actively associated with a variety of initiatives in partnership with the MOHFW, to deliver quality healthcare across India, particularly to the underserved segments of our great nation.
