“We want to continue our association with this great organisation. We will be assigning HLL to establish margin-free outlets for the sale of expensive drugs at the Medical Colleges”, she added.

Welcoming the audience HLL C&MD Shri.M.Ayyappan said: “HLL is committed to continuing efforts to further enhance the quality of healthcare in the State."

The Hindlabs MRI Scan Centre has been set up at the three Medical College Hospitals as part of the MoU inked with the Government of Kerala. The objective is to provide state-of-the-art diagnostic service to the common man at affordable rates.

The Scan centre at Kottayam has been set up at a cost of Rs. 7 Crores. In addition to MCH patients, outside patients can also utilise the MRI Scan Service at the Centre at reduced rates. HLL will also offer free MRI scan service to ten percent of the in-patients at the Medical College in the Below Poverty Line (BPL) category.

The Hindlabs MRI Scan Centre will provide quality diagnostic service with modern 1.5 Tesla scan machine. The Hindlabs MRI Scan Centre also has Tele Reporting System- a modern telemedicine system to transmit radiological images (DICOM) from one location to another. This will help doctors to view the MRI Scan Images of the patients and issue their reports through the Internet. HLL is already in talks with reputed institutions like Sree Chitra Tirunal Institute of Medical Sciences and Regional Cancer Center Thiruvananthapuram for clinical collaboration with this project.

HLL has posted manpower for the lab including Senior Radiologist, Doctors, Radiographers, Nurse, etc. and would operate the MRI Scan Centre. The MRI machine would also be of great benefit to the M D Radiology students in the three Medical Colleges as MRI Machine is a pre- requisite for conducting M D Radiology Course in Medical Colleges.
